Created with support from Whangārei District Council
Children with Disability NZ Network
Sensory Sensations NZ is part of the Children with Disability NZ network, a growing group of websites created to support inclusion, accessibility, disability awareness and practical learning resources.
A connected network for inclusion
Children with Disability NZ supports a wider vision where disabled children, families, schools, councils and communities can access practical information, lived-experience guidance and inclusive resources.
Each website in the network has its own purpose, but they all share the same goal: to make inclusion easier to understand, easier to talk about and easier to put into practice.

Sensory understanding is an important part of inclusion. Children experience the world through sound, touch, sight, smell, taste, movement and body awareness.
When families, educators and communities understand sensory needs, they can create calmer, safer and more inclusive environments where children feel respected and supported.
Built from lived experience
The Children with Disability NZ network is shaped by lived experience, practical advocacy and a belief that inclusion should be visible in everyday community life.
These websites are designed to support real-world understanding, from sensory needs and learning resources through to accessible playgrounds and inclusive public design.
Working together for a more inclusive future
The Children with Disability NZ network exists to help disabled children and families feel seen, supported and included.
Together, these websites help share practical information, positive representation and inclusive resources across New Zealand and beyond.
